Joy for the Humble

"
The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord"

Isaiah 29:19

This verse is a promise from God to those who are humble. Humility is the opposite of pride, and it is a character trait that God values highly. When we are humble, we recognize that we are dependent on God for everything, and we submit to His will in our lives.

There are many benefits to being humble. One of the greatest benefits is that God gives fresh joy to the humble. This joy is not based on our circumstances or accomplishments, but on our relationship with God. When we are humble, we can experience His joy even in the midst of difficult times.

There are a number of ways to develop humility in our lives. First, we need to spend time in prayer and Bible study. As we learn more about God and His character, we will naturally become more humble. Second, we need to be willing to serve others. When we put others before ourselves, we are putting God's will first in our lives. Third, we need to be honest with ourselves about our weaknesses and shortcomings. When we admit our need for God's forgiveness and help, we are humbling ourselves before Him.

If you want to experience fresh joy from the Lord, I encourage you to develop humility in your life. When you do, you will find that God will bless you with His joy in abundance.

Here are some examples of how the humble can experience fresh joy from the Lord:

• The humble person can experience the joy of knowing that they are loved and accepted by God, regardless of their circumstances.

• The humble person can experience the joy of serving others and making a difference in the world.

• The humble person can experience the joy of knowing that they are part of God's plan and that He is using them to accomplish His purposes.

• The humble person can experience the joy of knowing that they have a future and an eternal hope in Christ Jesus.

If you are feeling down or discouraged, I encourage you to turn to God and ask Him to fill you with fresh joy. When you humble yourself before Him, He will answer your prayer.
