Selfless Humidity

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves.
Philippians‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is a beautiful and powerful verse that calls us to be humble and selfless. It is a reminder that we should not be motivated by our own selfish desires, but rather by the good of others.

The first part of the verse tells us not to be "selfish." This means that we should not put our own needs and wants ahead of the needs and wants of others. When we are selfish, we are only thinking about ourselves and how we can benefit. However, when we are selfless, we are thinking about others and how we can help them.

The second part of the verse tells us not to "try to impress others." This means that we should not do things in order to get the approval or admiration of others. When we are trying to impress others, we are focused on ourselves and how we look to others. However, when we are humble, we are focused on others and how we can serve them.

The third part of the verse tells us to be "humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves." This means that we should have a low opinion of ourselves and a high opinion of others. When we are humble, we are not arrogant or prideful. We are willing to admit our mistakes and to learn from others. We also recognize that everyone has something to offer, and that we can learn from everyone.

Philippians 2:3 is a reminder that we should not be motivated by our own selfish desires, but rather by the good of others. When we are selfless and humble, we are living according to the example of Jesus Christ.

Here are some specific ways to apply the message of Philippians 2:3 to our lives:

• Put others' needs before your own. When you are making decisions, ask yourself: What is best for the other person?

• Avoid seeking attention or praise. Do things because they are right, not because you want people to think well of you.

• Be willing to admit when you are wrong. No one is perfect, and everyone makes mistakes. When you make a mistake, apologize and admit that you were wrong.

• Be willing to learn from others. Everyone has something to offer, even if they are different from you. Be open to learning from others, and be willing to change your mind.

• Be grateful for what you have. Don't focus on what you don't have. Instead, be grateful for the good things in your life, and focus on how you can use your blessings to help others.

Philippians 2:3 is a challenging verse, but it is also a very rewarding one. When we live a selfless and humble life, we are more likely to be happy and fulfilled. We are also more likely to make a positive impact on the world around us.

In summary:

• Do not be selfish.

• Do not try to impress others.

• Be humble.

• Think of others as better than yourselves.

• Put others' needs before your own.

This summarizes the key points of Philippians 2:3, which is a call to be selfless and humble.
