Power to Please

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.

Philippians‬ ‭2:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is a powerful verse that reminds us that God is at work in us, giving us the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. This is an incredible truth, and it has implications for every area of our lives.

First, it means that we are not alone in our pursuit of holiness. God is working in us, empowering us to grow and change. He is the one who gives us the desire to be more like Jesus, and He is the one who enables us to live out that desire.

Second, it means that we can be confident that we will succeed in our pursuit of holiness. God has promised to finish the work that He has started in us (Philippians 1:6). He will not give up on us, and He will not leave us without the resources we need to grow and change.

Third, it means that we should be humble in our pursuit of holiness. We should not boast in our own strength or accomplishments, but rather we should give all the glory to God. It is only by His grace and power that we are able to do anything that pleases Him.

Here are some practical ways to apply Philippians 2:13 to our lives:

• Spend time in prayer and Bible study. This is how we learn more about God's will for our lives and receive the power to live it out.

• Be obedient to the Holy Spirit's prompting. The Holy Spirit is God's presence in us, and He is constantly guiding us in the way we should go.

• Surround ourselves with other Christians who are also pursuing holiness. We can encourage and support each other on our journey.

• Don't be afraid to fail. Everyone fails at times, but that doesn't mean that we should give up. We can learn from our failures and grow stronger as a result.

Remember, God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him. Trust Him to guide and empower you on your journey of sanctification.

In summary:

• God is working in you.

• He is giving you the desire to do what pleases Him.

• He is also giving you the power to do what pleases Him.

• This means that you are not alone in your pursuit of holiness.

• You can be confident that you will succeed in your pursuit of holiness, but you should be humble in your pursuit of holiness.
