Razor Focus

... I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
Philippians‬ ‭3:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This is a powerful reminder that we should not let our past define us. We are all flawed and make mistakes, but God's grace is new every morning. When we accept Christ's forgiveness, we are given a fresh start.

Paul was writing to the Philippian church to encourage them to keep pursuing their faith, even in the face of challenges. He knew that it could be easy to get bogged down by past failures or regrets, but he urged them to focus on the future and the prize that awaited them in heaven.

In order to forget the past, we must first forgive ourselves. When we hold on to our mistakes, we are only giving them power over us. But when we forgive ourselves, we are releasing that power and allowing God to heal us.

We can also forget the past by focusing on the present. Instead of dwelling on what has happened, we can choose to be grateful for what we have today. We can also focus on serving others and making a difference in the world around us.

Finally, we can forget the past by looking forward to the future. We know that God has a good plan for our lives, and we can trust that he is leading us to a place of blessing and fulfillment. When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we are able to forget the past and press on towards the goal of eternal life.

Here are some practical tips for forgetting the past and looking forward to the future:

• Confess your sins to God and receive his forgiveness.

• Forgive yourself and others.

• Focus on the present moment and be grateful for what you have.

• Serve others and make a difference in the world around you.

• Keep your eyes on Jesus and trust that he is leading you to a good future.

Remember, you are not defined by your past. You are a new creation in Christ. He has forgiven you and given you a fresh start. So press on towards the goal of eternal life, with your eyes fixed on Jesus.

In summary:

Don't let your past define you.

• Forgive yourself and others.

• Focus on the present moment and be grateful for what you have.

• Serve others and make a difference in the world around you.

• Keep your eyes on Jesus and trust that he is leading you to a good future.

• Remember, you are a new creation in Christ.
