The Gift of Eternal Life

He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.
Romans 2:7 NLT

This verse teaches us several important things about how we can receive eternal life.

First, it teaches us that eternal life is not based on our ethnicity or nationality. Paul says that God will judge everyone "according to what they have done," regardless of whether they are Jew or Gentile. This means that everyone has the opportunity to receive eternal life, regardless of their background.

Second, it teaches us that eternal life is not based on our religious beliefs. Paul says that God will give eternal life to those who "keep on doing good." This means that it is not enough to simply believe in God; we must also live a life of good deeds.

Third, it teaches us that eternal life is not based on our own merit. Paul says that we are saved by God's grace, "not by works, so that no one can boast." This means that we cannot earn eternal life by our own efforts; it is a gift from God.

Finally, it teaches us that eternal life is a reward for those who seek after God. Paul says that those who keep on doing good are "seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers." This means that eternal life is not something that we can take for granted; it is something that we must actively pursue.

So how can we keep on doing good and seek after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers? Here are a few suggestions:

• Love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.

• Love our neighbors as ourselves.

• Forgive those who have wronged us.

• Help those in need.

• Be kind and compassionate to others.

• Live a life of peace and justice.

By doing these things, we can show that we are truly seeking after God and his kingdom. And as we do, we can have confidence that we will receive the reward of eternal life.

In addition to the above, here are some other things that we can do to keep on doing good and seek after God:

• Read the Bible and pray regularly.

• Attend church and worship God with other believers.

• Serve others in our community.

• Be involved in Christian ministries.

• Grow in our knowledge of God and his ways.

As we do these things, we will become more and more like Christ, and we will be better prepared to receive eternal life.

In summary:

• Eternal life is not based on ethnicity or nationality.

• Eternal life is not based on religious beliefs.

• Eternal life is not based on our own merit.

• Eternal life is a reward for those who seek after God.

• We can keep on doing good and seek after God by loving others, forgiving others, helping others, and living a life of peace and justice.

Here are some additional points that could be included in the summary:

• Eternal life is a gift from God, not something we can earn.

• We can receive eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ.

• We should not take eternal life for granted, but should actively pursue it.

• We can grow in our knowledge of God and his ways by reading the Bible, praying, attending church, and serving others.
